Forever Shining A Light, a Planned Giving Program

Some things change, but families are forever. The Forever Shining Light Program recognizes and highlights individuals who have chosen to forever shine a light via their will, as a beneficiary of retirement or insurance plans, or through another kind of planned gift. We will make an announcement on our website and on social media, celebrating the individual’s commitment to leaving a legacy of giving.

We understand that family members may not always be able to give money or volunteer time during their life, but they still want to contribute something lasting and meaningful after they pass away. That’s why we created Forever Shining Light – so that every donor can be celebrated for their lasting, generous gift.

Honoring Someone’s Special Day

Light of Honor Program

A special way to honor and celebrate someone dear to you or your family. When you make your gift, we will share an announcement in our newsletter or on our website and also send a certificate of appreciation to the honoree's family or friends. Many individuals ask friends and family to donate to SLID in lieu of a gift for a special occasion.

 

Everyone can be a part of the Forever Shining Light Program and help us achieve our mission. When you give, we celebrate those who have made a lasting impact on our organization and community!

Memorial Gifts

Legacy of Light Program

Memorial giving is a thoughtful way to remember someone who has passed away.  SLID will gratefully accept memorial gifts in memory of a loved one. We will list the donor in our newsletter and on the website and send a letter of recognition to the person designated as a family contact for a memorial gift.

By making a memorial gift, you are ensuring that the memory of your loved one continues to shine brightly! 

 

Stock Gifts

Rays of Light Stock Giving

Gifts of stock can have a powerful impact on SLID’s mission. By donating stocks, you can help create life-changing opportunities for the people in our community. By donating appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual fund shares is an easy way to make a significant contribution. You may be eligible for additional tax savings by donating the stock directly to SLID rather than selling it first. Please consult with your financial or tax advisor.

 

Donor Advised Fund

If you have created a Donor Advised Fund, you can recommend making a gift to SLID.
